We love you Grandma Tubbs!!!
Well, we got home off our trip on Wednesday. We had a great time and I will write more about it later. Yesterday we received the news that Jared's grandma passed away. It was pretty sudden and unexpected. Grandma had a stroke on Wednesday night and wasn't able to recover from it. How grateful we are that we were able to see her and spend some time with her just last week.
Grandma Tubbs was a wonderful woman who ALWAYS put her family first. She was there for all the athletic events, basketball, soccer, and tennis of course. She loved watching her family play sports; in fact the first time I met Grandma Tubbs was at a tennis match. Jared and I were dating and he was playing mixed doubles with his mom. Grandma Tubbs was there to cheer on her daughter and grandson. We chatted away the whole match. I remember her saying after the match that we were like old friends. Right from the begining she welcomed me into the family and I became her granddaughter.
One of Jared's fondest memories of his grandma was when she taught him to golf at Heise Golf Course. For those of you who know Jared, you know how much he loves to golf. Grandma and Grandpa used to go golfing with their friends every week. I wish we would have gone golfing with them like we always talked about.
We have so many fun memories of our grandmother, and we will always remember her love for us and how much she loved the Lord. She loved her mission that her and grandpa served. She served many people throughout her life. Many will remember the spirit she would bring with her singing. She had a beautiful voice. We love her and will miss her as she continues her eternal journey and we are comforted by the knowledge that we will see her again someday. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Sea World, Take Two
Bentli felt like she hit the jackpot, Sea World twice in one week. On the way there she saw a Wal-Mart, and concerned that we would make a detour said, "Mom, don't go Wal-Mart. We go to Sea World, OKAY!" We made it to Sea World and she clapped through every show. When we left I asked her what her favorite was, her reply, "The whales". Shamu has a lifelong fan.
Tate took a nap, but he was sick of the heat and noise, so he was on Mom's lap most of the time. He was happy as long as he had his water bottle, but if you took that away, watch out!! Overall, we had a fun time together as a family. Mom and Dad were beat by the time we made it home. The memories make it all worth it.

Sea World
Tate was such a good little guy! He slept most of the time and was smiley the rest of the time. He was glad to get home and take a nap in a nice and cool place. We were all worn out by the time we got home.

Papa Chris
We had a little surprise yesterday! Grandpa Chris called and was at the Houston Airport with an overnight layover and so had decided to rent a car and drive over to see us! We were so excited all afternoon, Papa Chris was all Bentli talked about. Bentli was a little shy at first, but after the Papa gave her candy and a whole dollar, she was his little buddy. We went to Rudy's BBQ for dinner (yummy) and just got to hang out. Bentli was glued to Papa Chris' side all night and didn't want anything to do with Mom and Dad. Papa even gave her a really cool seashell from Nicaragua, she had a blast! Tate had fun with his grandpa too and have him some really precious smiles! We all had such a fun day and were so glad to see Papa Chris!
Mischeif!
A couple weeks ago Bentli decided to have some fun in Mom's bedroom. She was in on the bed watching cartoons while I was doing laundry in the living room. When I realized that she was being too quiet I went to to check on her. Bentli had found a dry erase marker of her dad's and had proceeded to color the walls, TV, dresser, sheets, pillows, and herself from head to toe! After time out, I decided that I had to get a couple pics. I am just so glad that I don't make my bed so my new bedspread was safe! Whew! I can laugh about it now and Dad makes sure to put his markers away now!

Our new blog!

Well, I finally was able to get a blog set up (thank you Jodi)! Now I just have to keep it updated, we'll see how that goes.
I have been adjusting to having a second child to take care of and
Bentli has been right there helping me mother little Tate. She is very proud of her brother and lets everyone know that Tate is hers. I am getting better at getting two kids ready, even though I am a mess half the time. They keep me busy and things get hectic, but we enjoy life.
Bentli is a social butterfly! The highlight of her week is nursery on Sunday, she loves her friends. She is an active little girl with a mind of her own and an attitude that gets her in time out. The other day she even put her baby doll in time out. She said, " Mom, my baby's in time out" when asked why, she replied, "she didn't listen to me." I think she has heard that a few times! Bentli has been a joy to have, she has a very sweet side that loves to hug and kiss!
Tatum is a growing baby boy! He weighed 16 1/2 lbs. at his 4 mo. checkup. His height was in the 90th percentile. I am amazed at how fast he is growing. He has rolled over from his stomach to his back. He is getting a cute little personality too, he smiles a lot and has an adorable laugh. I try to enjoy my baby cause I know he will be a little kid before I know it.
Jared is busy, busy, busy at work. Enterprize loves him and he is doing very well at his job. The long hours are bummer and motivate him to get into dental school. He is able to get in some fun between working and studing. He was just moved up a level in tennis, hopefully the 4.5 level will give him more of a challenge.
As for me, my life rotates around my precious children. I miss my sleep and hope to have uninterupted sleep again someday! I love being a mommy, but I do have a night each week when I can go hit the tennis ball child-free. Luckily, I have some great friends down here in Texas and we have some fun. We are looking forward to coming home to visit at the end of the month! And, yea, Jared gets to come this time! So, that is a brief update on us and hopefully there will be many posts to come!
